Looking ever forward.

Dearest all,

In a few weeks the Catfood Factory will be finding itself a new home. Or maybe I should say that I should be finding it a new home, though, I must admit, this sort of thing is not my forte.

It's really something; an art show like this- the sense of accomplishment is exhilarating, to be sure, but- more than that, I realize that I've had huge amounts of help all along the way. Help for which I am ever grateful, and ever mindful.

(I guess a title like By Self and Others is particularly fitting because there is a long list of others that have made it possible. There are people on the list whom I don't even know, and some I've only heard of. Some who I used to know, but most of you- I know.)

While we are retrospecting, here's a review of By Self and Others, the show includes the series of wall pieces that I call By Self and Others, as well as the Catfood Factory and various prints. (most of which have found themselves here on small blue cat as well...)

In short, the show is an amalgam of my better works over the course of the last year and a half.

It's not good practice to dwell too long on the past, so we'll stop with that now-

I'm eternally grateful to all of you, and I'm looking forward to continuing to impose these fabrications, these ambiguities, these equivocations upon you. (But I'll probably need help. No man ought to be an island, after all.)

The blank page should not cause trepidation, after all, but rather a reconsideration of what could be.

With Warmest Regards,
Eric

  1. It is easy to be a helper to you. You are a most humble and appreciative receiver.
